Treviso and On To Riccioni 9/17 - 9/19/2014

We spent the day wandering the lovely canal town of Treviso, visiting the fish market and strolling through the park.
Yummy!

We stopped for tea and picked up some food at a local deli and brought it back to our hotel apartment for lunch.

Our lodging was actually a small apartment and we have a washing machine and drying rack. What a luxury to be able to sit out on the balcony, relax and enjoy the sunshine all the while our laundry was drying.

Patti waiting for the washer to finish the cycle - close quarters!

Enjoying the sunshine while the laundry dries in the background.

We went back to town for more wandering and exploring and found ourselves back at the Pinarello store. We visited with Fabio and his lovely assistant and he gave Patti and Margaret some great discounts. Patti bought a helmet and Margaret found one more jersey she could not live without.

We visited the Duomo where I took a photo of what it looks like now compared to a photo on display from 1920.
Treviso is known for their Prosecco, Radicchio and tiramisu. We made sure we enjoyed the Prosecco at a street side cafe after a bit of shopping and more wandering. Dinner was in the plaza where locals gather in the evening. A lovely way to spend a few days.

Treviso was hard hit in WWll on Good Friday,1944 leaving them with much of their town in shambles and needing to be rebuilt. There were so many photo ops in this town, including frescos.

Off to Riccioni today and let the cycling begin!
