Touring Barcelona - Day One

We all slept pretty well last night in our swanky penthouse by the sea and were treated to a glorious sunrise.
We spent the entire day seeing sights and started our day with some goodies from a local bakery and an out-of-the park cafe latte. We then went to the Picasso museum and were impressed with his evolution as an artist and the experiences and other artist that influenced him.
Unfortunately we could not take photos inside the museum but we walked through his very detailed paintings as a youth and then through his blue period and on through his almost whimsical later years.
Then we were off to visit the Cathedral Basilica de Barcelona and took a few moments to rest, reflect and enjoy the beauty. We went to the top and were rewarded with some beautiful views of the city.
After our time at the Cathedral we took hop on hop off bus to explore the city.MWe wandered Las Ramblas and enjoyed the fresh food market. There were a sea of people everywhere but we were rewarded with some great purchases including veggie empanadas, fresh fruit, dates and nuts which we brought back to the hotel for our evening meal.
Tomorrow we will do the east route of the hop on hop off & take in more Gaudi architecture including the famous church.

Great pictures. Not crawling out of a tent at 30F, instead you are having out-of-the-park lattes how much fun is that. O well try and have as good a time as you can.
