Shake Out Ride - Reinosa

Everyone is here at last (except Hilary and Christopher who will meet up with us in Haro) and we have a nice group of folks. I think we total 19. Our tour guide is Simon, from Ibero Cycle and he is very informative and friendly. It promises to be great fun.

We took a 2+ hour bus ride to Reinosa where we arrived at our hotel. For those of who did not bring bikes got our rentals set up for us. We took a brief ride outside of the town and were serenaded by lots of cowbells from the free range cattle on the hillsides. We stopped at the very small town of Fontibre at the source of the river Ebro that flows all the way to the Mediterranean.

We rode up to a small castle that was unfortunately closed but provided a lovely view. Looks like the bikes will work out well. Off tomorrow to ride to Polientes. 86 km or about 55 miles.
