Bilbao - Day Two, then we ride!

It is Friday morning and we are still in Bilbao. We meet up with Simon, our tour guide this morning and are off to ride. We will have a brief meeting and then take a van to our first location where we will be fitted for our bikes and do a preliminary shake out ride.

Before we leave Bilbao I will bring you up to date on our experience in this lovely city. We had some late rain on Wednesday night but, with umbrellas provided compliments of our hotel, we went out for a delicious meal of Paella, salad and a bit of wine. We actually found a restaurant open at 6:00 pm, most places don't open until after 8:00 pm.

Thursday (yesterday) brought sunny skies and the air was crisp and clean and so we took a funicular to the top of a surrounding mountain and were treated to a spectacular view of the city. Well worth the fare of 0.95€ each way.

HELLO-o-o-o-o!!!!

I am definitely IN THE MOMENT!

The "Puppy" in front of the Guggenheim
Our Trilogy Bicycle Club friends, Jim and Sandra and Ken and Mary Margret arrived last night and we also met up with new friends Mike, Mary and Jane. We all spent a relaxing evening enjoying wine and tapas in the old town historic district. We will meet up with others this mornings and Hilary and Christopher, members of our club, will catch up with us in a few days.
Today we are off to ride. I may not have wifi in some of the smaller towns, but will do my best keep up the blog. Here's to blue skies, great weather and a safe journey. See you doing down the road!
Everyone is slowly getting here so let the cycling begin!
